SIGGRAPH Asia 2024: NZ Innovators Invited to Submit XR Projects

Exciting news for creators in the field of Extended Reality (XR)! SIGGRAPH Asia 2024 has officially opened submissions for XR, covering augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and virtual reality (VR). This prestigious event offers two compelling categories for showcasing groundbreaking XR technologies and experiences.

Committee Chairperson Yun Suen Pai, University of Auckland, has invited a team of international researchers to organise this year’s program, which will take place in Tokyo in December. Raqi Syed, Sr. Lecturer, Victoria University of Wellington, is the local Committee member in Wellington. She has co-directed the award-winning film experience MINIMUM MASS and contributed to notable projects for Disney Animation Studios and Weta Digital. Raqi encourages individuals with an XR project ready for exhibition to submit their work for consideration. Whether you have a cutting-edge XR technology offering unique interactive experiences or excel at immersive storytelling in a VR theatre setting, SIGGRAPH Asia 2024 is the platform to showcase your talent.

In addition to XR, the event serves as a prime venue to display the latest in digital media and interactive technologies. Creators are encouraged to describe their projects in a creative and engaging manner. Selecting the most appropriate program, whether it be XR, Emerging Technologies, or Art Gallery, is key to presenting your work to the right audience.

The submission deadline is 20 June 2024. This unique opportunity allows you to be a part of shaping the future of XR at SIGGRAPH Asia 2024 in Tokyo, Japan this December.
