  • Lance Lones - Chair

    Lance is a former NASA rocket scientist and a 20 year veteran of the VFX and entertainment industries. He has built visual effects software tools and technologies for films such as Lord of the Rings, King Kong, and Avatar, and has co-founded a number of technology companies devoted to furthering the art and science of VFX and virtual reality.

  • Sharon Lark - Vice Chair

    Sharon is an independent VFX Producer for 25 years on major international features: Prince of Persia, The Chronicles of Narnia and Casino Royale, among others. After relocating to NZ, she has worked on co-productions: Thunderbirds are Go, The Luminaries, Australia, Cleverman, and Mr Corman as well as several domestic NZ productions.

  • Stan Alley- Treasurer

    Stan is a VFX supervisor with over 25 years experience in the film industry and has worked both locally and internationally on some of the most ambitious VFX movies ever created including The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Avatar, The Avengers, Mr Corman as well as What We do in the Shadows.

  • Amber Marie Naveira - Secretary

    Amber Marie Naveira (Waikato-Tainui) - CoFounder and CEO of The Granary, a virtual production studio. Amber Marie is a Producer with 20 years of experience in the film and tech industry, having led integral technical departments at one of the world's most renowned VFX companies.

  • Tim Capper

    Tim Capper is a VFX supervisor in film and TV. With thirty years experience as a CG generalist and VFX supe, he's been lucky enough to work with some great teams. Currently Tim is a VFX Supervisor on an untitled Amazon project.

  • Nicolette Hurnen

    Graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Creative Media Production, Nicolette is an up and coming visual effects data wrangler and director. Most recently she’s worked on the international TV series Mr Corman and local production Red, White and Brass.

  • Paul Dickson

    Co-founder of Auckland VFX studio Cause and FX and VFX Supervisor, Paul has spent over two decades in the VFX industry with a broad history of compositing, set supervision and more on features, tv series and commercial projects both local and internationally.

  • Rhys Dippie

    Rhys Dippie is a VFX artist who has worked on film, TV and commercials for the past 20 years. He enjoys a wide mix of jobs from comp to 3D to development. In his spare time, he likes pretending to be a machinist and electrical engineer.

  • Greg Flannagan

    Greg Flannagan - Co-founder and Managing Director of Cause and FX, Greg leads creative teams to produce iconic visual effects images for NZ and international productions.
